Activated Signal Transduction Kinases Frequently Occupy Target Genes

Is the TAP tag itself responsible for the enrichment over actively transcribed genes (due to, for example, TAP tag binding to the transcription apparatus)?

We compared the results from TAP-tagged strains (red) with those from corresponding MYC-tagged strains (blue). There was no discernible difference between the results from the two strains. The ChIP-chip data from TAP- and MYC-tagged transcription factor Fhl1p during growth in YPD medium at highly transcribed genes are shown as examples. We conclude that the results that we observe for the TAP-tagged proteins are also observed with other tags.
