Histone Acetylation

IWe examined genomic patterns of nucleosome acetylation using antibodies directed against three different forms of acetylated histone residues, H3K9ac, H3K14ac and H4 acetylated at the four positions K5, K8, K12 and K16. Below at left are enrichment profiles for these modifications at a specific region and at right are profiles of the average gene for each modification. In general, acetylation occurs within promoter regions and correlates with transcriptional activity.
